On cold days sit next to the wood burner, in the summer relax in our rear garden or on the sunken terrace and for when it’s just too hot we are fully air conditioned. The Cow - burger restaurant
Situated at the heart of Tapnell Farm in a converted Swiss barn, The Cow champions the finest home-grown and locally sourced produce and is renowned for its delicious award-winning burgers - including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan choices.
You can choose whether to eat in (booking essential) or eat outside on the terrace.
The views across the Isle of Wight from the mezzanine level and terrace are hard to beat (especially the sunsets!), so why not join us for a warm welcome, great service and find out why we’re known as one of the most unique places to dine on the island!

Sample our collection and watch the stills in action from the comfort of The Mermaid Bar at the Isle of Wight Distillery. Situated on the outskirts of Ryde in picturesque countryside, enjoy a Mermaid and Tonic on the terrace or relax in comfort by the log fire with a cocktail or two. With delicious food and a superb cocktail menu, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
We are open as a bar, restaurant and shop. We are unable to offer tours, due to the size of our facility. However, our still room can be viewed through a glass wall, Spirit Taster boards can be purchased from the shop and our knowledgeable staff will be happy to talk you through the distillation process and the stories behind our brands.

The Red Lion is a traditional country pub in a quiet location in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.

The bar is comfortably furnished and you won’t be deafened by music and the log fire burns peacefully throughout the winter.
The Isle of Wight countryside around the pub is amongst the finest in the country and is a haven for walkers, golfers and those who like to take a step back in time.
The Red Lion is the ideal venue for a traditional ale, a glass of wine or a meal from our seasonal changing menu . We are open 12 to 10:00 Monday to Saturday, and 12 to 22:00 Sundays. Food is served 12:00 to 2.30 and 18:00 to 20.30 daily.
